San Francisco Film Commission

The San Francisco Film Commission works to develop, recognize and promote film activities in San Francisco. We work to promote the San Francisco Bay Area as a film destination while also working with the local film community to support local projects with significant ties to San Francisco.

Jonathan Moscone, Commissioner Matt Stiker

Jonathan Moscone is a native San Franciscan and is honored to be a member of the San Francisco Film Commission. Currently, he serves as Chief of Civic Engagement for Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, envisioning and implementing strategies to fulfill YBCA's role as a citizen institution. Prior to YBCA, Jonathan served for 16 years as Artistic Director of California Shakespeare Theater. He has directed at theaters across the country including Berkeley Repertory Theater, Alley Theater in Houston, American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco, Milwaukee Repertory Theater, and Huntington Theater in Boston. He serves on the national board of Theater Communications Group in New York City, and the local board of Theater Bay Area in San Francisco. A graduate of the Yale School of Drama with an MFA in Directing, he received the inaugural Zelda Fichandler Award by the Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation in 2009, for "exceptional contribution to the national arts landscape through regional theater work."
